Seed quality are all  factors that determine the seed's performance

What is seed quality?

 

Seed quality is like all factors together that contribute to seed performance. It depends on the conditions that the mother plant had during growth, harvesting, processing, storage and planting.  

 

Temperature, nutrients and other environmental factors also affect seed development and influence seed quality.

 

Why is seed quality important?

 

Good quality seed can increase yields by 5-20%.

Usually the following characteristics are measured:

 

  1. Varietal purity

  2. Other varieties

  3. Weed and other crop seeds

  4. Inert material

  5. Red rice

  6. Germination

  7. Moisture content
