Product required

To calculate product requirements, you need to know:

• Active ingredient (a.i. %) (AI)
• Area of application (ha) (A)
• Recommended rate of product or active ingredient (l or kg or g/ha) (RR), and
• Tank capacity (l)

The equation to calculate product requirements is:

If the recommended rate is for product (RRP) (e.g., 2 l product/ha), then

            Amount of product required = RRP * area to be sprayed

If the recommended rate is for active ingredient (a.i.) (RRAI) (e.g., 150 g a.i./ha), then

            Amount of product required = RRAI * (product/a.i.) * area
