How do immature grains reduce the quality of paddy rice?
![]() |
Calculate the impact of immature grains on paddy rice quality and perform a procedure for determining the percentage of immature grains in a paddy rice sample.
The effect of immature grains on quality |
Immature grains are very slender, have a chalky
appearance, and do not survive the milling process very well. If paddy
rice contains a high percentage of immature grains, milling will create
excessive bran, broken grains, and brewer's rice. |
