This module is structured in four lessons which will discuss major components of the soil in relation to the plant growth and water movement in soil to plant and to the atmosphere. We will also discuss the effects of drought to the rice plant.
At the completion of this module, you should be able to:
- understand major components of soil in relation to plant growth
- understand soil-water relations such as mechanism of soil moisture retention, movement and availability
- trace the movement of water from soil to plant and to the atmosphere
- describe the mechanisms by which rice reacts to drought condition
