Development

How do you build storyboards into e-Learning?
Describe the process of passing storyboards to a Web developer and list three considerations to take into account when building e-Learning.

This module contains 6 lessons, including a review quiz and an assignment. By the time you have completed this module you will have learned how to develop an e-Learning course based on the design specifications you determined in the design phase.

Development: Building the content to run on the Web
As an instructional designer, you are now ready to pass your storyboards to a Web developer for building the content into the format you've prescribed. In some cases, the instructional designer will possess Web development skills and begin the process on their own. Whatever the case, the Development phase of the instructional systems design process is about building storyboards into learning that can be delivered via the Internet.

At this point in the e-Learning development process, the storyboards are passed to the Web developer for building into a format that can be delivered via the Internet.

Three considerations

This module focuses on the entire development process and highlights the considerations a Web developer takes into account when developing for the Web. These include the:

  • look and feel of the content
  • directory structure and navigation of the content
  • Web content authoring tools

Each of these considerations is discussed more thouroughly in the next four lessons.

Next lesson
In the next lesson, you will learn about the considerations taken into account regarding the look and feel of the content.
